The app uninstallation process will start. Click on ‘Manage’ > Select ‘Uninstall’. Scroll down to the specific installed app and click the little down arrow next to ‘Open’ or ‘Update’. Click on the ‘Apps’ tab > Then click on ‘Installed Apps’. Finally, restart your computer to apply changes. The cleaner tool will automatically uninstall and remove the selected programs from the computer. Select your preferred option and press Enter to perform the task. Within a couple of seconds, a command prompt window will open. Click on Yes if prompted by UAC to open the tool. Once done, right-click on the exe file and select Run as administrator. If you can’t uninstall the program easily then make sure to download and install the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool on the PC. Locate Adobe CC and click on it to select > Then choose to Uninstall. Type appwiz.cpl and hit Enter to open Program and Features. Press Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box. Then select the correct version of the Windows OS on your computer. Now, head over to the official Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool webpage on the PC. Keep in mind that you’re logged into the Windows system as an administrator. I hope this helps unclutter File Explorer a little for anyone who is not using "Creative Cloud Files". If you later want to re-create the shortcut, all you need to do is run the rePinCCF.reg file also provided in the Adobe download zip file. 
I did not need to do this and the "Creative Cloud Files" shortcut was immediately removed.
You may need to restart File Explorer or Windows for the change to take effect. A confirmation message appears once the registry is successfully updated.A message appears advising that you want to add unPinCCF.reg to the registry.Double-click on unPinCCF.reg (the unlink file) from the extracted folder to run it.There are 2 files, one for creating the link and the other for removing it.Download PinCCF.zip from Adobe and extract its content.Go to the Adobe help site Adobe Unlink Tool.This answer gives a tested method for anyone who wants to remove the "Creative Cloud Files" shortcut, using procedure similar to that provided by Adobe. I expect Adobe has made a change to their implementation. The RegEx approach described in the procedure above or described in other posts would not work for me.
