You will know if a teacher favors you or not, and it is hard to get our there and really get respect. The only big problem that I have with this school is favoritism. I had no self-esteem at the beginning of my freshman year, but the support of some amazing classmates and teachers helped me realize that my perspective on the world is needed. I am a theatre major and I have learned so much about acting in its many forms since coming here. Sophomore: Las Vegas Academy is an excellent school where you can really learn how to fly. As it's on a college campus, the facilities are nicer than a normal HS. Since students are in college, they need to have determination and drive because you are responsible for yourself and there is little parent involvement.
Because you attend college classes at the same time, it's a great way to get a taste of what college may look like once you graduate while having support from HS resources. There is really only 1 HS club in addition to electives, although students may join any CSN clubs, but you can do activities at your zoned school. However, as a result of dual enrollment, the major focus is on academics, so there are little opportunities outside of it. The HS classes themselves are very unique and unlike any class I've had or expected to have, which is a result of the amazing teachers. Students are only required to take 3 high school classes, leaving the rest of the time open to schedule college classes. Junior: The dual enrollment aspect makes its academics awesome.
